Filter coffee

This coffee is made in the Espresso maker

Ingredients:
Filter Coffee Powder- 4 tsp
(Narasu's Udhayam or Hotel blend)
Sugar- 1/4 tsp
Water - 2 cups
Filter/Espresso maker
Stainless steel tumblers

To make coffee:
Organic Whole Milk- 1/2 cup
Strong Decoction- 1/4 cup
Sugar- 1 tsp

Method:

If you are using the stainless steel filter:
Add 1 tsp coffee powder to the upper part of the filter. Now place the disc and add another 3 tsp of coffee powder and sugar. Bring the water to a boil (Water should not be boiling water) just when the bubbles start coming. Add the water to the filter slowly. Stir it and close the filter lid.
Meanwhile, boil the milk (Whole milk). After the milk is boiled you need to pour the milk in another vessel/tumbler back and forth and this way you will get a frothy milk.
The strong decoction would have filtered in the bottom part of the filter. Add sugar to the steel cup. add 1/4 cup of decoction and pour the frothy milk int the glass. Top the glass with a spoon of milk froth and serve hot.

If you are using the stove top espresso maker:
Fill water to the bottom of the espresso maker. Add coffee powder to the filter. Fill it and press the coffee powder with your fingers and twist the top part securely ( If its not secured properly then it will be a failed brew) Place it on the stove on low flame. After 10-15 minutes the decoction will come to the top chamber of the espresso. Put off the flame when its full.
Now add this decoction to the stainless steel glass with milk and sugar and enjoy hot coffee.

P.S. To best enjoy your filter coffee, the decoction with coffee to water ratio is 1:5 i.e 50 ml water for 10 grams of coffee powder. For a strong cup of coffee, use decoction to milk ratio as 1:3. After the milk boils, simmer for 4-5 mins. This will add creaminess to the coffee.
