Dhabha Style Dal

Ingredients:

Toor Dal- 1/2 cup
Moong Dal- 1/2 cup

For Seasonings:

Ghee-2-3 tbsp
Jeera-1 tsp
Ginger grated- 1 tbsp
Green chilli-finely chopped-2
Hing- a pinch
Curry leaves-4-5
Dhania powder- 1 tsp
Kasuri Methi- 1 tsp
Red Chili powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric- 1 tsp
Cilantro- 1 tbsp chopped
Butter- 1 tbsp
Onion chopped finely- 2 tbsp
Tomato chopped- 1 tbsp
Dry Red chili- 3-4
Curry leaves- 4-5

Method:

Wash the dals and pressure cook with 3 whistles.
Add Ghee to the kadai. After the ghee gets hot add Jeera and let it splutter. Now add Hing, dry red chili, curry leaves, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes. Let it cook for 2-3 mins and add Turmeric, chopped green chili, red chili powder and other masala powders. Mix well. Take out a spoon of this tadka aside. Add the cooked dal. Now add salt,cilantro leaves and bring it to a boil. Turn it off. Add butter. Let the butter melt and pour the dal into the container. Garnish with the tadka kept aside.
Enjoy hot dhabha style dal with Rotis/Rice.
