Ingredients:
1 whole medium sized sorekai - bottle gourd
1/2 kg idli rava (rice rava)
Pepper powder(coarsely grinded)1tea spoon
Jeera 1tea spn
Ginger 1/4 of an inch (grated )
Coconut grated 1 bowl
Chilli about 5-6
curry leaves and coriander leaves to taste
Channa dal -2 tea spoons
Curd-1 cup
Urad dal - 2 tbsp
Method:
Soak idli rava in luke warm water for 1 hour
The dough should have the consistency of the idli batter
After 1 hr add grated bottle gourd ..add salt to taste
Add all the ingredients except grated coconut
Mix all the ingredients well and keep it aside overnight.
Soak urad dal for 3-4 hours in the morning and grind into a paste and add to the idli batter.
Next morning add grated coconut to the dough and mix thoroughly before setting it on to the idli stand.
Cooking time is just as idli preparation.
Serve hot with coconut chutney/chutney powder.
